To all of my ED warriors and anyone on the path to body positivity who has struggled with exercising obsessively or addictively - working out is NOT a requirement for self love.
Working out doesn't make anyone morally superior or more worthy of self love. We are all worthy, and we all deserve to prioritize our mental health, above physical if necessary.
It's taken me 7 years post recovery of exercising obsessively out of self hatred, and punishment of my body, before getting to a better place in my relationship with exercise. Be honest with yourself, be kind to yourself. Heal yourself.
For everyone else who wants to get a sweat on - let's collectively stop giving a crap what we look like while we're working out. Fitness isn't exclusive, everybody is entitled to move without judgement, and without the assumption that we're trying to lose weight - I don't want to lose a single pound of this glorious jiggle.
Forget the red face, forget the sweat, just enjoy yourself. And always remember that you don't exist to look good for other people.
