To all my ED warriors and bopo sisters, I promise you that my page will forever be a place free from diet and weight loss talk.
There are lots of members of this community who do post these things, whether they're consciously dieting for weight loss or living a healthier lifestyle for health reasons. People have every right to live how they want, and post how they want. Being body positive and actively losing weight are not mutually exclusive, and there are many fabulous women who go to show that. I am absolutely not criticising them - body positivity means ownership of your body, whatever you choose to do with it.
All I say is this, having come from a place of body hatred that was so often rooted in comparison to others, a simple 'yay I lost 4 pounds this week!' post can trigger old demons into making you feel that you need to be losing weight too.
An 'I wish I was thinner' post can set off those same feelings in someone else in a much more dangerous way.
An exercise achievement post that focuses on calories burned can take you back to the unhealthy, constantly counting mindset you might be working hard to escape from.
As I said, we are all free to live how we want, and post how we want, but I will strive to make this an ED trigger free zone
