This is my body. It is not something imperfect to be disgusted by and ashamed of. It is not a 'before' or 'after' picture. It is not a provocative image to be objectified. It is my own. It carries me. It is beautiful. It has kept me alive despite all my efforts against it.
And if one girl sees this body and thinks 'she doesn't look the same as the picture in this magazine but she's learned to love herself, maybe I can learn to love myself how I am too', then even my darkest times have a glimmer of light shining on them. And for that, I will never hate my body again.
